GYAN JYOTI COLLEGE,
affiliated to the University of North Bengal and approved by the Department
of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal is the first self-financed
college in Siliguri. It is the brain child of Vivekananda Academic
Foundation, a conglomeration of Corporate houses and eminent personalities
who are determined to bring about some concrete changes in the education
scenario in north eastern region to meet the growing demand of higher
education infrastructure. The college seeks to channelise education by
inculcating in the students certain definite career goals. It is for the
first time, at the under graduate level, that counseling procedures are
incorporated and parental participation is appreciated at all levels of
making career choices, adjustment difficulties, academic issues, personal
and emotional problems.The college started functioning from the academic
year 2005-2006. The college is situated at Dagapur, near Pintail Village,
N.H. 55, Siliguri with around 5 acres land.
The
college is presently having the following professional and other under
graduate courses like : BBA, BCA, BA English(Hons.), Mass Communication &
Journalism (Hons.), B.Com (Hons.) & General, B.A. Economics (Hons.).
The
extension of affiliation for emerging courses every year prevents the
erosion of talents in this region and enables the students to have a wider
choice to select their courses.

of this institution is its qualified and experienced teaching staff who
render their unputdownable efforts to build the generation of coming years.
Maintaining academic diary by the faculty members is the almanac to assess
and regulate the progress of study by the principal. The modern classrooms
well equipped with latest audio visual aids enrich the learning process of
the students.. The facilities such as Training & placement Cell, Spacious &
rich Library and Reading Room, Modern Computer Lab facility, Hostel ( both
for boys & girls separately), Transport facility are few of the uniqueness
of the institution.

method), Confidence building etc.College Newsletter which comes out
